Standard Polystyrene
To measure the molecular mass distribution of a sample using size exclusion chromatography, a standard substance of a known molecular mass and with a narrow molecular mass distribution must be prepared. Tosoh provides standard polystyrene for SEC analysis and standard polyethylene oxide for aqueous SEC analysis.
TSKgel Standard Polystyrene
TSKgel Standard Polystyrene is a standard polymer developed on the basis of Tosoh’s accumulated research on living anion polymerization and polymer characterization technology.
This polymer is used in laboratories throughout the world for creating SEC calibration curves and as a test substance for light scattering detectors. The polymer is also used as a standard material for research on polymer properties and as a starting material for synthesis of highly functional polymers.

20 types of polymer are available, with a wide range of molecular mass (4 × 102 – 2 × 107).

The molecular weight distribution is extremely sharp. For each type, Mw/Mn is guaranteed to be less than 1.2.

The products are provided with data sheets showing the characteristic values of the polymer, including molecular mass and molecular mass distribution, and providing information on analytical methods.
